Sandals offering vegan options at each of their 16 resorts!
HUGE NEWS: Vegan Meals at Sandals
We spend a great deal of time here at Vegan Vacations researching the various options our clients have when it comes to booking their plant-based vacation. While there are only a handful of truly 100% vegan experiences currently available (some are slanted towards health & wellness or ultra-luxury market), many are starting to see the value in providing more plant-based options to their guests.
Cruise lines have been embracing veganism (whole food/plant-based) for quite some time now with Oceania’s 250+ vegan menu options available, Virgin Voyage’s new vegan concepts, Azamara & Regent Seven Seas Cruises creating a dedicated vegan menu with many other lines providing vegan options at various dining establishments with just a bit of advance notice.
It’s been all-inclusive resorts that have to start finding ways to make accommodations for us despite, in my opinion, having more space and resources than cruise ships. So whenever we hear about a resort brand that is providing some new vegan or plant-based options we get excited. Usually, our excitement dulls after finding out all the details, but hey progress is progress!
But, today’s announcement is anything but dull… It is actually huge!
Sandals offering vegan options at each of their 16 resorts
I recently had a sales call with Sandals, Executive Chef and members of their Food & Beverage team where they reiterated their commitment to providing quality fresh and sustainable ingredients whenever possible. They are always working to add more initiatives & sustainable ingredients to their plan and they will be adopting a more Farm-to-Table attitude to it’s ingredients and concepts moving forward.
But the really exciting news was that in addition to their 5-Star Global Gourmet approach to dining as well as having a Culinary Concierge available at all their resorts to help vegan guests, Sandals announced that by the end of the first quarter of 2020 they would be offering vegan options at each of their 16 resorts.
There will be 2-3 appetizers and 2-3 main dishes available to choose from at each restaurant (hopefully we’ll be able to get some dessert choices soon) and they will feature Hungry Planet® plant-based meat substitutes in many different forms (chicken, pork & beef style). This is quite a huge announcement!
It’s about time a resort chain made a change like this.
Veganism is still growing and with so many travellers wanting to know they can still enjoy their regular diet without having to compromise their morals, it is so great to know there will be ample choice if you choose to stay at Sandals.
I recently confirmed that I will be staying at Sandals in April 2020 so I look forward to reporting on my experience when I get back.
