It was reported by Openjaw today that Seabourn, the luxury cruise line, has announced a huge shake-up to their in-room dining menus which is available 24 hours a day onboard their luxury ships. The good news about this for vegetarians and vegans is that this new menu will now include lighter and fresher vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as dessert options too.
I've long said I didn't understand why there couldn't be at least a few vegan-friendly menu options on room service menus. It's an area I still think many cruise lines and all-inclusive resorts can do better for folks with dietary requirements. So I am glad to see that Seabourn is trying to address this in the near future. I really want to see the new menus though, so keep your eyes on this blog as we'll share a sample as soon as we've been able to source one for you.
New Menus To Debut On Seabourn Venture Mid-June 2023
The menus will debut on the voyage of Seabourn Venture starting 18JUN. By OCT 2023, the new menus will be available throughout the Seabourn fleet.
The new in-suite dining offering was developed in partnership with Master Chef and Culinary Consultant Chef Anton Egger, and Senior Corporate Chef Franck Salein.
In addition, Seabourn will continue to provide in-suite breakfast options. During dinner hours, guests may also order from The Restaurant for course-by-course service in their suite or on their private veranda.

It'll be interesting to see the details of these new menus as they become available. Here's hoping that there remains some consistency here because at the moment it can be hit or miss with what you can expect from dining onboard cruise ships. Some ships and lines do it lovely, but many others are inconsistent with availability and options.
